Gun and ammo included! Beginners Pistol is a class geared towards those that are new to handguns and are interested in learning gun safety and how to shoot. It is also excellent for those that are considering getting their Concealed Weapons Permit (CWP), but have no knowledge or experience with handguns. The idea is to get the student to the point where they are proficient with a pistol in order to pass the SLED CWP shooting qualification required to apply for a South Carolina Concealed Weapons Permit. The concepts covered are: - The causes of gun accidents - The four cardinal rules of gun safety - The parts of a pistol - Pistol maintenance - Proper firearms storage - Ammunition and malfunctions - Loading/unloading a semiautomatic pistol - Shooting fundamentals - Grip - Sight Alignment/Picture - Trigger press and follow through - Breath control - Shooting stance - Live fire on a shooting range This class entails 3+ hours of training to complete each of the above components. The class is held at Mid-Carolina Rifle Club and is geared for no more than 4 students at a time although exceptions can be made. A range fee of $10.00 will be collected from each student the day of the class if not prepaid upon checkout. The student does not need to possess a pistol for the class. A .22LR pistol is provided along with 50 rounds of ammunition. Additional .22LR ammunition is available for purchase for $10 a box but probably won't be needed. Higher caliber gun rentals and ammo are available for purchase in class. The class promptly starts at the time indicated.
