This course builds on Spanish Beginner Level 1. Students will learn additional expressions which will provide them with the ability to show possession and give opinions about subjects that are prevalent among locals. At the end of the course, students will be able to craft a short presentation about a Hispanic country they would like to visit using content from this course. This course is designed for students who already possess a clear understanding of beginner Spanish grammar and basic Spanish vocabulary. In this course, students will continue expanding their vocabulary and conversational skills. They will also advance their knowledge of verb conjugation including the past simple tense and the future simple tense. Classes will integrate an expanded list of vocabulary terms related to travel scenarios. Topics Included: • Students will use their knowledge of indefinite and definite articles to create sentences with both singular and plural nouns • Sentence structures with simple past and future tense (includes common irregular past tense verbs) • The use of comparatives and superlatives to highlight distinctive differences when comparing objects and places • Expansion of question formation using different tenses, nouns, and adjectives • Introduction to possessive adjectives to create sentences related to ownership and family relationships which will help students communicate more effectively. • Adverbs of frequency and manner will be introduced to encourage students to enrich their sentences with more detailed descriptions. • Indirect, direct object, and reflexive pronouns No textbooks are required.
