ABOUT A recreational-style introduction for first-year dancers, Kindergarten 2024 and older. Students will begin learning fundamental elements of soft shoe with the goal of learning the first solo dance required for competition. Dancers will work toward the year-end recital where skills will be demonstrated in a group dance. EXPECTATION At this level, we have less-stringent attendance and fundraising expectations. All dancers will however be expected to start class on time with proper shoes, hair, attire. Respectful behavior and class participation is non-negotiable. Parents & guardians are required to intentionally and consistently role model and guide their dancers in positively contributing to our community. It is expected all registered dancers will participate in the year-end rehearsal & recital, the first or second week of June (dates to be confirmed). Information will be emailed once available. Rehearsal times fall Tuesday after school, Recital time falls Wednesday after school. REGISTRATION & CLASS FEES Registration fee includes the annual operational fee, registration admin fee, society membership fee, and recital costume fee. Required dance shoes, practice t-shirt & socks, and optional additional team merch are separate from registration and class fees. EQUIPMENT Practice shirts and socks can be ordered now through ACTIVE. Any plain black athletic shorts are acceptable as long as they're above the knee. Shoe options are listed in the Handbook provided. Please provide your dancer with a full and sizable water bottle for every practice (water only please). Snacks are not permitted in the dance room.
