Mixed media techniques can expand an idea by employing new ways to express an idea that is unique to the artist and clarifies a message or mood. Artist Sue Tyler guides you to unique and personal ways of art making. We review concepts of basic design, selection of materials, planning, and execution of expressive, unique designs. We explore techniques of layering and painting, collage, curation and assessment of one’s own work. We work on ways to access the “artist’s language” while creating to achieve clarity and purpose in art making. Session 3: “Personal Vision and Art Making” We continue the journey in this session, reviewing and remaking art pieces from previous sessions, although new students will be able to join the fun. Sue will introduce additional techniques and materials. Students have time to plan and create new works, as well as reflect on personal preferences and directions in art making. We also take time to experiment, critique, and celebrate our achievements. Students should bring a sketchbook, collage materials of choice (optional), and the desire to create and share with others.
