Description
Pre-requisite: Should have some weaving experience, either with Nancy the instructor or previous hands-on. This functional basket is made using the same general construction as both the Bread Basket and Market Basket, but due to its size, it is not suitable for a first-time weaver.Weave a big, beautiful 15”x12”x12” basket that will hold lots of stuff: books, toys, blankets, etc.
You'll learn to manage the shape of a larger basket while refining your weaving skills. Materials to weave the basket will be provided but you must bring some tools with you to class.
SUPPLY LIST
• 2.5 gallon (10 quart) bucket or 5 gallon bucket to soak weaving materials• Small spray bottle• 2 old towels, bath size or smaller• Tape measure, flexible or retractable, or ruler• Utility scissors or gardening shears• Pencil• 3-5 bags of beans, metal weights, corn hole bags, or a “spoke weight,” tohold your basket base in place• Clothespins• Clamps, clips, or 4” zip ties• A blunt awl or small flat screwdriver, or stubby screwdriver• HEAVY DUTY Weave Rite Bent tip awl
We will be working through lunch; bring a lunch or snack and drink.
