Description
Challenge yourself to weave an oval basket! This sturdy, functional basket will serve you well for years. The solid wooden bottom allows everything you put in the basket, to sit flat - making it perfect for transporting dishes.We will work through lunch so everyone will leave with a completed basket. Be sure to bring lunch, snacks, and drinks.
Materials to weave the basket will be provided but you must bring some tools with you to class.
Supply List for Basket Classes
Please Note: It is not necessary for participants to purchase a lot ofmaterials before class. Most of these items are easily found around the house.
• 2.5 (10 qt.) bucket or 5 gallon bucket• Small spray bottle• 2 old towels, bath size or smallere found at home. - Nancy• Utility scissors or gardening shears• Tape measure/ruler• Pencil• 3-5 bags of dried beans or corn hole bags, heavy weights or a “spokeweight” to hold your base in place at the beginning• Clothespins• A blunt awl or stubby type (short) flat head screwdriver• 10-12 Heavy Duty clamps or 4” zip ties• She recommends Weave Rite HEAVY DUTY basket weaving awls
Nancy will have heavy duty awls and clamps available for purchase ifparticipants would like to try them first.
