Recommended supplies for class: You should have at least one bag of R & F Clear Encaustic Medium or Enkaustiko brand at the first class! If you cannot get that, some will be available for $15.00 per half lb. cash at the first class only. Also, each student needs to pay the supply fee of $15.00 at the front desk by the end of the second class. This covers things like shared griddles, soy wax to clean griddles and brushes, paper towels, and numerous stencils, carving tools, papers etc. that you are free to use.Student needs to purchase: Heat Gun/Embossing gun (found one called a Chandler tool for about $25.00 online). OR at the very least: one pound bag of clear encaustic medium, one white cake of wax and one cake of colored wax, two hake brushes, three encaustic boards (or similar), a pan for wax. Clear Encaustic medium – most students use 1 – 2 pounds of clear medium per 8 week session. This comes in a bag of pellets or in brick form. (Do not get white beeswax – it’s not the same thing!
