Anatomy and Figure Drawing (Part II: The Muscular Structure) (Terms II, V)
Course Description:
Anatomy and Figure Drawing is a course designed as a basic study of human anatomy and an introduction to figure drawing from the direct observation of the human form. In Part II of this course we will study the human muscular structure and how it, along with the skeletal structure, influences the external appearance of the human figure. With our knowledge of both the skeletal and muscular structure we will draw directly from nude models. Basic drawing skills are encouraged for this course, but not required. It is also helpful to have taken Part I of this course, but not a requirement. We will also discussed basic drawing skills throughout the course, such as line quality, value structure, gesture drawing, and developing proper form.
