Description
Learn the basics of stand-up paddle boarding and water safety and head out on O'Shaughnessy Reservoir to explore.
*Children must be accompanied by an adult.*
Instruction and equipment provided. Dress for the weather, sunscreen, water shoes, water bottle, & hat. Life jackets must be worn for the duration of the activity during time on the water.
Weather Policy -Programs will happen rain or shine, dress for the weather. Your safety is our priority- CRPD staff monitor the weather closely prior to and during the activities. Should any event be canceled due to weather (see below) CRPD will contact participants and participants will be refunded activity and online fees.
Water & Air Temperatures: 120 Rule-
- (Canoeing/Kayaking) If the air and water temperatures combined do not add up to 120 then this program will be canceled.
Wind & Lightning-
- (Canoeing/Kayaking) If winds are greater than or equal to 13 mph the program will be canceled.
- (All Activities) If lightning storms are forecasted or detected during the program time, CRPD staff reserve the right to cancel, delay, or end a program early.
- Full refund for activity and online fees if the department cancels an activity.
- Full refund of activity fee only, if participant cancels before the activity
- Cancellations should be emailed to Outdooreducation@columbus.gov stating the participants name, program name and date, and mailing address.
- No refunds will be given after the start of the activity.
