About this event
American Airlines is hosting Girls in Aviation event at O'Hare International Airport. This event is aimed at inspiring and empowering young girls to pursue careers in aviation and will feature interactive activities, educational workshops, and inspirational talks from female pilots, flight attendants, mechanics, and other aviation professionals. Attendees will have the opportunity to board a bus sponsored by Collins Aerospace in either Rockford or South Elgin to travel to O'Hare where everyone will get to go through security, get a behind-the-scenes look at American Airlines operations, board a 737 and visit the local hangar for hands-on learning experiences. They will also interact with a variety of aerospace professionals to foster excitement and interest in aviation. Elements from the day can be applied towards earning the STEM Career Exploration badges.
