Painting Light: Beginner
Instructor: Tim Widener
Painting Light & Expressing Light for the Beginner is a class designed as an introduction to painting light, and for the beginner to understand color. In the first part of the class, students will learn color by mixing it, and then applying it to canvas. Afterward, a grounding in the use and understanding of value, tonal rendering of form, understanding edges, basic composition, and other fundamental methods and techniques are introduced to start students on their way to describing a painting with light. This course is designed for the student with little to no painting experience, but can be adapted for those who have painted for years and want to learn these techniques. Students can work in oil, acrylic, watercolor, and pastel.
