Jewelry & Metalsmithing: Fabricating Shell, Hollow
& Other Dimensional Forms
Instructor: Mary Kernahan
Taking a unique 3-dimensional form from design to construction to completion can be challenging to even the most experienced metalsmith. This class will cover the basic forming and soldering techniques essential to successfully fabricating complicated multidimensional forms. Seaming, raising, sinking, stretching, fold forming, and die forming are among the techniques that will be used to create elements for object construction, and students will gain practical experience for successful soldering of complex angles and joints.
Level 2 & Up

9:00 am – 12:00 pm, 10 sessions
$326 Members, $366 Guests, $60 Materials Fee
Metals/Jewelry Department Students
All Jewelry/Metals students pay a fee to cover supplies, and the use of tools/studio equipment during the class periods.
Wearing a mask in the BBAC metals studio is strongly encouraged.
Materials list of items to bring:-Please bring a small notebook and pencil to class-Wear close-toed shoes and long pants-Bring your own safety goggles, or you can share the studio goggles
