About this event
Latin Club is an opportunity to travel the world where the Romans touched to learn from guides and scholars from that area. Students will be able to see and experience cultures that shape our world today. During club meetings, students will learn the customs of ancient Rome; recreating their clothing and tasting their delicious food. The destination and price of the tour will be presented to students at the first meeting. The club will prepare them for the tour that occurs during the mid-winter break. Students will train in the procedures and protocols of the tour. They will study the basics of the language of the destination to assimilate as much as possible to that area. Students must remember this is an educational tour and not a vacation. There will be an organized itinerary for the entire trip, with scholarly tour guides and built in free time for students to explore the significance of the region for their global understanding. Once in high school, students can earn college credits from Southern New Hampshire University that can be transferred to many major public and private universities in the U.S. All students will be required to complete a travel packet during the tour. The fee for the tour itself will NOT be part of the club fee. Students that join Latin Club must intend to enroll in the international or domestic tour. The tour fee covers housing, transportation (flights, buses, & trains), and meals in the morning and evening. We can’t wait for you to join us!
