Yes, coffee, the tasty beverage we all know and love. In this 2 day Workshop, participants will explore making and using caffenol, a developer made from coffee and other simple household ingredients. Chemistry and equipment provided. Day 1: Students will be guided in the process of creating their developer from scratch, shooting and developing 1 - 2 rolls of b&w film. Day 2: Students will take the next step and create silver gelatin prints using caffenol as a paper developer. Prerequisite: Beginning/Intermediate Darkroom Photography or by permission of the instructor. Supply List: 35mm or medium format film camera, 1 - 2 rolls of unexposed b&w film, variable grade (multicontrast) resin coated(RC) b&w photographic paper.
