Multi-Color Linocut Printmaking
A2AC, Studio 201 117 W. Liberty St. Ann Arbor, MI 48104 Organized by Ann Arbor Art Center
Registration closed.
About this event
Join instructor, Sajeev Visweswaran, for an introduction to multi-color printmaking using a soft-kut block (similar to a linoleum block) and a reduction technique. Relief printing is a technique where images are transferred to paper from the raised portion of a carved or etched block. Students will create a drawing on the soft-kut block and use linocut tools to carve out the negative space from the desired areas. Ink is then applied to the surface of the block using a roller. Finally, prints are created using a manual spooning technique, which applies pressure to the ink and paper, transferring the image to paper. Try your hand at something new and enjoy this unique process of creating multiple images! There will be no class on July 4th or July 18th.
