Description
This class is appropriate for all levels from beginners to established artists seeking to explore the use of professional steam set dyes to create luminous, vibrant artwork on silk. Students will apply dye using techniques including water-based resist, soy wax batik and thickened dye. Imagery and templates are available for reference. Students are also encouraged to develop their own expressive personal approach to design. The supply fee includes dyes, brushes, and frames needed including one 22x22" scarves. Students will work at their own pace but will likely be able to paint additional scarves that can be purchased for $8-$15 depending on the size and type of silk used.
A $30 supply fee is payable to the instructor on the first day of class. Students should bring paper towels and disposable gloves.
