About this event
---Instructor: Keely Kirk--- This is an advanced combination class with a dual focus on using improv to inspire sketch ideas and sketch writing. This class will allow the improv student to continue to explore different improv styles and techniques as well as learn how to create and find material for sketches. Constructive and supportive instruction will give attention to individual tendencies of each performer, group tendencies and scene work. In class exercises will focus on how to use improvised scenes to brainstorm and generate ideas for writing. Whether you are a seasoned writer or someone who rarely picks up a pencil, this class will teach you how to get ideas onto paper. Building off the knowledge of the core concepts of improvisation the student will learn to unlock their creativity, discover new approaches, overcome obstacles and affect an audience. This class will include a full length student showcase performances which will combine improv and sketch writing.
