---Instructor: Joanna Henry--- Breathe new life into an existing work! We’ll start with auditioning tips and strategies and do a few practice auditions. Next, students will break down and analyze scenes, concentrating on getting an actor’s best performance. We’ll discern character choices within each scene, using the text to evaluate that character’s objectives, obstacles, actions, and given circumstances. We’ll then expand into strengthening collaboration and ensemble building. Actors will apply and reinforce practical strategies to make a character come alive within a scene. By the end of classes, students will be able to elaborate on character discoveries found in a scene in connection with other characters and deliver honest, real, original and vivid characters.
