The North American component of the war featured colonies of the British Empire against those of the French, with each side supported by various Native American tribes. The outcome of the war was very favorable to the British and changed the course of history. The outcome of the war was less favorable for France. Territory was lost in North America and Africa, with the resulting turmoil leading to the French Revolution.
