About this event

Instructor: Deacon Kathleen Cartledge is the Director of Music and liturgist at St. Paul Lutheran Church, Aiken, SC. She earned a bachelor’s degree in music from Augusta University in 1982 (Major, Organ) and a Master of Arts in Religion Theology from the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, Columbia, S.C. She is currently the Dean of the Augusta Chapter, American Guild of Organists Organist, Conductor, and worship leader. She has had a lifelong interest in the Pipe Organ. Description: This course will discuss the Pipe Organ: how it works, the different types, and its impact on culture and society throughout the centuries. We will also discuss healthy singing, religion, and copyrights in a church setting. There will also be an optional field trip planned to attend a demonstration/ recital. Date and time to be determined and will be relayed to course attendees.
