About this event

Instructor: Dr. Lisa Ennis is an avid gardener with an affinity for native plants and their role in nature. She has a Certificate in Native Plant Studies from the Birmingham (Alabama) Botanical Gardens and completed Alabama Extension’s Master Gardener course in 2012. She is currently the Dean of the Gregg-Graniteville Library at USCA and holds several academic degrees and honors. She is often found outside gardening, sketching, or playing with her three rescue pups. Description: What is a native plant? What is the difference between invasive and aggressive? Why are native plants so important to biodiversity? Take a tour of some of South Carolina’s most beautiful and useful native plants. Learn how to garden for pollinators and songbirds and how native plants support their lifecycle.
