Have you ever wanted to make your own bow? What about a quiver full of arrows to go with it? This introductory weekend is an opportunity for you to focus on either making a bow and single arrow, or going all in on a full quiver of arrows – including the quiver! Options: A wooden longbow, complete with a string. You’ll go from a rough-cut stave to a functioning bow. Things you’ll learn include: how to rough out the form, balance the limbs, and string the bow. Peter will also make you an arrow so you can test the whole thing out. Already have a bow you like? Come make an entire quiver full of arrows… Oh, and the quiver, too! This workshop will cover the basics of leatherworking as well as get you to a point where you could turn out your own arrows at home. Learn new skills, and make new friends. Bow-making is just one of the projects Peter is offering this weekend, so you will be working alongside a number of other people making a number of different things! Ages: All! Most participants are adults, but all ages are welcome. Children must have a responsible adult with them if they cannot work alone. Children under 8 are required to have an adult come and help get them settled and started on a project.
