Reebok Floatzig X1 Review

About:Reebok hit it out of the park with the colorway on this shoe. The black with neon and the blue make these shoes stand out from the crowd and are fun to wear. They fit just like the road shoe and have aggressive treads that do great on the trails. The inner material around the heel is soft and appears not to wear badly. The heel material allows someone to wear shoes with shorts or no socks. The adventure design added more eyelets, allowing the user to lock down the shoe better.

While designed for adventuring and trail running, these shoes can be used for packed gravel, flat, wide trails, and other light trails. Be cautious when running a very technical and rocky trail.

Very comfortable but has some drawbacks. The way the cushion suctions to the ground makes the slightest amount of friction between the heel-toe transfer. Plus, when the cushion gets pushed down, it creates the weird sounds

Things We Liked:

"The shoe looks great with the colors and has a nice upper and inner material around the heel, which you can wear without socks and not worry about issues."

"The cushioning was extremely comfortable and felt nice."

Areas for Improvement:

"It's too high, and the edge is unforgiving. They need to widen the base and lessen the edge's hardness."

"The heel cushion somehow created a pseudo-suction cup, and I continually heard a weird noise while running in it. It was very distracting."

Final Thoughts

It’s easy to see where Reebok wanted to take this shoe. The assumption was that they wanted a high cushion shoe that felt light underfoot. While this was semi-accomplished, there is much room for improvement. The shoe's stack height makes it feel like “I’m running on stilts,” which takes an adjustment period. But with a couple of iterations, this should be a high-cushion dream.
