About this event

STORING TROPICAL PLANTS in Temperate Climates: Decisions, Tips, and Techniques with Marianne Willburn author of Tropical Plants and How to Love Them WHEN: Saturday, October 29 @ 10AM Used strategically, tropical and subtropical plants can create incredible energy and excitement in the temperate landscape; but many temperate gardeners unfamiliar with the genre (and without a heated greenhouse) are hesitant to dabble, unsure of the work involved to keep non-hardy plants through the mid-Atlantic winter for the next growing season. Using four memorable categories from her book Tropical Plants and How to Love Them, Marianne will help you discern what you can easily store, what may take more effort, and where to draw the line, providing tips and techniques for successful storage in cold climates.
