VANCOUVER: Looking to gain more hands-on skills in engineering? Look no further! Engineering Design Club features weekly skills lessons and design projects for high school students in grades 10-12 to help them explore technical skills they might not typically have access to. In this club participants will work in a group to accomplish a term-long project using the skills they have learned. Examples of some skills we will work on in this club include 3D modeling and printing, and working with breadboards and Arduinos. No experience necessary! This club is a brand new theme for Geering Up clubs! Some participants may already have skills that we cover in this club, in which case we will encourage them to challenge themselves above and beyond what they know. The goal of this club is to work more on hands-on skills that participants might use later on, rather than lecture-centered lessons. Fall clubs begin Saturdays, September 17 and run until December 3. There will be no club sessions October 8 (Thanksgiving weekend) and November 12 (Remembrance Day weekend & UBC Fall reading week).
