Learn how to knit! This winter session will focus on making your own HAT. Techniques include: how to cast on, knit & pearl, stockinet stitch, garter stitch, and more! NO experience necessary. Please provide your own equipment and supplies. This class is taught for Beginners-slowly, with patience and guidance throughout (Intermediate students welcome to refresh skills & ask questions). For a beginner knit & purl hat, materials needed are super bulky yarn (#6). 77 yards/3.5 oz, 16-inch circular needle, US size 13, and 1 stitch marker. The instructor will offer step-by-step directions. If you would prefer to knit something other than a hat (example: scarf) please contact the Recreation Office for specifics on the type of knitting needles and yarn you will need. Children 10 and up are welcome to register but MUST be accompanied by parent/guardian. Instructor: Lisa Howell. 8 weeks-NO CLASS 2/22. (weather date 3/15)
