Activity Organizer: Dr. Allendoerfer Email: email@example.com Dates: Thursdays until the end of Brain Bee Competition in January and then monthly Time: 4:00 PM–5:00 PM Grades: 8–12 Cost: $175 Description: The Neuroscience club provides an opportunity for students to learn about and explore the field of neuroscience, while also preparing for the Society for Neuroscience Brain Bee competition. Specifically, the club will offer a series of lectures and review games regarding various neuroscientific concepts, as well as several immersive projects and labs. If school is in person as expected, rewards (candy) and dissection/lab equipment will be utilized (sheep brain and cow eye). We will also run our own in-house Brain Bee in preparation for the Bay Area competition (or as a replacement, as we did this year due to the cancellation of the Bay Area Bee because of COVID restrictions). During Brain Awareness Week, March 14- 20, club members will prepare posters and/or talks to be shared with the BISV student body to increase awareness of neuroscience issues. This may be done in collaboration with the Neurodiversity Outreach club.
