The Army Reserve Birthday Virtual Ten-Miler is a virtual run to commemorate the 115th birthday of the United States Army Reserve (USAR). Runners will run a ten-mile, ten kilometer, or five kilometer course of their choosing any time between 0001 EDT on Friday 14 April 2023 and 2359 EDT on Sunday, 23 April 2023. The purpose of this run, in addition to commemoration of the USAR’s 115th birthday, is to build esprit de corps across the component, regardless of geographical location.

Event details and schedule
Registration: Registration for the race will open 1 December 2022 and close on 28 February 2023. Participants will run the race on a ten mile, ten kilometer, or five kilometer course in their local area of their choosing. Participants may run or walk the course. Leave and/or pass is not required to take part in the race. Participants conduct the virtual race on their personal time or during normal Physical Readiness Training hours.
Participants will register at https://endurancecui.active.com/event-reg/select-race?e=82978334 and choose their race (ten mile, ten kilometer, or five kilometer). Participants can only run one of the races for recognition. Following completion of the run, participants will log in to the results site at https://resultscui.active.com/events/USArmyReserveBirthdayVirtualRun, annotate their time, and upload their screenshot/picture to substantiate their time. Participants will have until 1 May 2023 to input their times and upload their picture/screenshot.
Participants will have the choice to purchase a race shirt, medal, and race bib through the registration website. Payments will be processed through the vendor of the items.
Runners MUST:
Track their run using a GPS-enabled run tracker or a GPS-enabled watch in order to track their miles and time.
Run the ten mile, ten kilometer, or five kilometer course in one run. Breaking the run up (ex. two separate five kilometer runs to run ten kilometers) is not permitted.
Take a picture or capture a screenshot from their tracking device or phone with the date, mileage, and time. Word documents, excel spreadsheets, or edited photos are not acceptable.
Practice proper OPSEC procedures when using GPS to track and upload their runs; runners will not upload GPS tracks, for example, at any location where such tracking is prohibited.
Achievements:
United States Army Reserve Command (USARC) POCs will be responsible for tallying and certifying the final scores and achievements.
Participants will compete overall and within their age and gender groups. Age groups will be 17-29, 30-39, 40- 49 and 50+. Each participant who takes part and completes the run will receive a Certificate of Completion signed by the USARC command team (CG, CSM, and CCWO). For the ten-mile course, the top overall male and female and the top three (3) males and (3) females in each age group will receive a medallion and Certificate of Achievement signed by the USARC command team. For the ten- and five-kilometer runs, the top overall male and female and the top three (3) males and (3) females in each age group will receive a Certificate of Achievement signed by the USARC command team
