About this event
MAPS Youth Seminary seeks to equip Muslim youth in the Seattle area with a strong foundation in their Deen through a more serious Islamic studies program taught by qualified instructors. CURRICULUM OVERVIEW MAPS Youth Seminary will be a 2-year program and operate on a quarter system. 2-3 subjects will be taught each quarter by MAPS Scholar recipients (Akram Baioumy, Anas Azeemi, Omer Siddiuqi, Sally Elhousieny). Upon completion of all courses, students will graduate and receive a certificate of completion. Subjects that will be taught include: Aqeedah, Fiqh, Proofs of Prophethood, Preservation of Quran/Quran Sciences, 40 Hadith of Imam Nawawi/Hadith Sciences, Islamic Manners, Tafsir of the last ten Surahs, Du’aas, Stories of the Prophets, Tazkiyah/Diseases of the Heart, Lives of the Companions/Islamic History, and Contemporary Issues. Seerah is being taught through other MAPS programming. Assessments will be regularly administered throughout the quarter. 2nd QUARTER TOPICS AND LOGISTICS The second quarter of Youth Seminary will be begin in Fall 2022 (September 11 – December 16, 2022). Classes will be held in the MPR room in the new wing.We are currently accepting applications. Topics: Islamic Manners - Spirituality and Aqidah. Classes will be held Sundays from 4:00pm – 6:00pm. There will be 14 weeks of instruction including a week off for Thanksgiving break. Adab, Tazkiyyah and Aqeeda 201 will be the subjects taught.
