Explore creative teaching techniques and feel the accomplishment of leading students through an experience that impacts them for life. A unique learning opportunity a great part-time job. This course is for swim instructor candidates 16 years and up. No exception to the age restriction can be made. This course is only for swim instructor candidates who will be applying for a Portland Parks and Recreation swim instructor position. Swim instructor Certification classes will consist of classroom content and in person water skills checks. Training groups will be reduced to 10 people, including instructors to keep class sizes small. **This class could be subject to change depending on OHA COVID-19 Guidelines. We will keep you informed if things change. ** Important information about the class: Please come to class in your swimsuit as you may not have access to change while at the facility. All water portions of the class will be towards the end of class, so you can leave when class is over. Please bring your swim instructor manual, extra towels, face coverings, swimsuit a pen or pencil. No person shall be permitted entry to class if any of the following signs or symptoms were present in the last 72 hours. Temperature greater than 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit, Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, Repeated shaking with chills, Headache, New loss of taste or smell, Close contact with person with any of the above symptoms or known COVID-19.
