Description
Weaving is one of the oldest art forms in the world and goes back to neolithic times. It is practiced around the world, with rich traditions, colors and applications. In this foundation course, learn to design and produce individual works of art on a contemporary loom. Focus on weaving vocabulary and developing project ideas and interests through hands-on experience. Pattern design and theory taught throughout.
Beginning students only. Students will make samplers. Students cannot miss first class. Basic materials included in class, with additional fibers available for purchase. Students will be assigned a loom by their instructor at first class, based on class needs, student experience, and projects planned.
