The Rosewood Music Program is a full-scholarship program for youth who live or go to school in the vicinity of the Rosewood Initiative (SE 162nd & Stark). Priority for lesson placement goes to students who have support of their in-school music teacher and a parent or guardian.
How to apply:
1) complete an application
2) the program leader will talk with the student and parent/guardian about the program and set up a schedule of regular weekly lessons with the student and teacher, and size the student for an instrument if needed.
3) Lessons - and practicing - begin!
There are strict requirements for daily practice and weekly attendance.
The program is funded by a grant from the City of Portland, and supported by PP&R, the Community Music Center, and Rosewood Initiative.
