We're sorry, but this activity is over. The last meeting was Saturday, October 23, 2021.
An ancient art form that has been practiced for centuries around the world, felting has its roots in nomadic cultures where with the simplest of tools, artisans transformed fibers in to tough and longer lasting garments and adornments. Contemporary practice includes decorative and sculptural elements limited only by the imagination. In this workshop, explore the magic of needle felting! This versatile technique can be used to create felt from roving without water. Fashion a fun, funky felt bead necklace, and hatch a lovely owl from roving.
Class price includes a materials fee of $10 that covers basic materials. Students may bring optional supplies: sharp scissors, felt, yarn and fabric scraps, beads and buttons, unused thick household sponge.
Pay What You Can: We understand that our activity fees may be a barrier to participation for some members of our community. If you are unable to pay the full fee amount, you may use the discount feature at check-out to pay what you can.
Donate: Portland Parks & Recreation relies on customer activity fees to make public programs possible. If you have the financial means, please consider making a donation to PP&R’s “Community Access Fund” at check-out (see the “Donation” drop-down list.). This fund helps us serve those in need. Thank you for your support.
