MedWAR is short for Medical Wilderness Adventure Race. It is a unique event that combines wilderness medical challenges with the growing sport of adventure racing. The race was also developed as a tool for teaching and testing the knowledge, skills, and techniques of wilderness medicine, and for promoting teamwork and collegiality among competitors. MedWAR is sanctioned by North American Educational Adventure Racing (NAEAR).
Mercy St Vincent Medical Center Emergency Medicine Residency is proud to present the 20h annual Midwest MedWAR at Pinckney Recreation Area. Sign up early to ensure space at this year's race featuring a nighttime orienteering challenge.
Please visit www.medwar.org to read through the official MedWAR Challenge Curriculum and FAQ’s for very important details before registering for any of the races.

We are trying to create a race so that all teams are spending the entire day out in the woods. The race will finish just at sunset so be prepared for darkness and the potential for getting lost. Dress appropriately. This race will occur no matter what the weather. Teams should expect to canoe, trek, climb, swim, and get lost at least once.
Racers are responsible for their own camping and parking.
