About this Course This 6-week course is a collaborative, creative workshop. During each class session, students will work on skills and techniques of various metal and wire jewelry making. This includes wire techniques such as twisting, hammering, wrapping, weaving, coiling and folding. The goal is to integrate components to create unique and personalized jewelry pieces. The instructor facilitates and assists the students by bringing samples, providing demonstrations and explaining their construction and materials required. Patterns, books and videos may be used to guide and illustrate, as appropriate. Students will work on projects of their choosing and at their own pace, with assistance from the instructor as needed. Depending upon the project, multiple steps / multiple techniques may take several sessions. The concept is that students at the advanced level are making projects that they truly enjoy, not just ones that are pre-determined for them.
