We're sorry, but this activity is over. The last meeting was Saturday, October 9, 2021.
No experience necessary. Over four 3-hour sessions, this class will cover the basics of sailing through classroom and on-the-water practice, with the majority being on the water. This is a great beginning class for anyone who dreams of someday owning their own boat and cruising/racing in Puget Sound, or who simply wants to learn how to sail. We will cover the following topics over the 12 hours of class: boat rigging (setup), knots, points of sail, sail trim, finding wind, rules of the road, and navigation aids for safely traveling from moorage slips into open water. Students will each have time to learn and practice the various roles that skipper and crew fill. This class is designed to have a high instructor to student ratio, to allow for better instruction for all students. Additional spots may open up for those registered on the waitlist
