The Lowcountry Splash is South Carolina's Premiere Open Water Swim event. We now have a two categories: the 2.4 mile swim and the 6 mile swim. Both swims take place along the shore line of Daniel Island and Mount Pleasant as participants make their way under the Cooper River Bridge and finish at the USS Yorktown. We average well over 500 Swimmers a year from 30 states and 5 countries.
The Splash is a fundraiser for the Lowcountry Aquatic Project Swimming. LAPS is a swimming initiative targeted at drown-proofing all K-1st grade students in the Charleston County area by building a community of swimmers who can enjoy the environment in which they live. LAPS helps fund underprivileged children in diverse communities by providing free transportation, instruction, and swim aids for the learn-to-swim programs.
