About this event
There is SO much to see and do just across the river! Museums, memorials, architecture, history, art, gardens -- so many things to see, so little time. This camp is packed with sights and monuments -- different ones each day. These will be field trips with a purpose -- with an emphasis on appropriate and relevant background information, but also each camper’s perspective: time devoted to individual perspective. We will reflect and draw daily in journals (included). This will be a highly mobile week: we will take the Metro from school to the day’s explorations and be walking much of the day. Possible sites to be visited include the Capitol and all the buildings on the Mall, Ford’s Theater, and the Tidal Basin memorials (particular sites will depend on scheduling, weather, and permissibility).
