SIU’s Touch of Nature Environmental Center is seeking passionate and enthusiastic student volunteers to help facilitate the program entitled Dawg Days New Student Retreat this upcoming Fall. Dawg Days is a collaborative program between Touch of Nature Environmental Center, the Student Recreation Center and the Department of Health Education and Recreation, and supported by New Student Programs, the Achieve Program, the College of Science and more. Below you will find a summary of the opportunities available for those wishing to volunteer. Candidates must submit a complete application by April 10th. Applications may be found at: http://dawgdays.siu.edu. Program Purpose: The purpose of Dawg Days New Student Retreat is to help students build a peer network right before beginning their collegiate career at SIU. Volunteers will be instrumental in helping students adjust to college life in a four-day, three-night camp with engaging and fun events. There will be a wide variety of activities ranging from outdoor adventure based experiences to various other recreational and leisure experiences. Candidate applications will be reviewed and interviews will be scheduled. An application does not ensure an interview. The volunteer selection committee will select the most qualified individuals.
