Middle School and Gap Rowing
This weekend only rowing program is for middle or high school students not quite ready to commit to the tough demands of Novice Rowing. The objective is to develop a lifetime love of rowing by focusing on the fundamentals of the sport. Participants learn the basics of the rowing stroke, safe navigation, and correct use of equipment. Athletes engage in structured physical exercise and guided games with the focus to safely develop cardiovascular, flexibility and muscular fitness. No Class 11/27-11/28
Eligibility: *No experience required* open to youth entering 7th - 12th grade in Fall 2021, or Novice High School rowers. Preference given to 8th grade athletes. Attendance is mandatory on the first 2 days for an in-depth orientation to the boathouse, equipment, and safety.
Registration Requirements: Lake Oswego Community Rowing has teamed up with Parks & Receation to provide easy access to information and registration for all rowing activities. Enrollment in any rowing program is dependent on the following requirements:
- Current and Signed Float Test Form
- Lake Oswego Community Rowing Forms
- Completed USRowing Waiver
