Why: The Johnson City Senior Center Foundation Inc is a nonprofit foundation supporting the needs of seniors in Washington, Sullivan, Carter and Unicoi counties.
Time: Beginner/intermediate – 8 a.m.-noon; check-in: 7:30 a.m. Advanced – 1-5 p.m.; check-in: 12:30 p.m.
Friday, Oct. 29 – Event 1 Individual round robin, limit 80 players. No partner needed.
Saturday, Oct. 30 – Event 2, mixed doubles (limit 16 teams) beginner/intermediate and advanced.
Entry Fees and Deadlines:
Entry Fee for One Event is $30. 00 Per Person
Entry Fee for Both Events is $50.00 Per Person

Entry Deadline: Registration Closes Midnight October 22, 2021
Levels: Beginner/intermediate and Advanced (all players must have prior pickleball experience and be fully knowledgeable of rules and scoring.
Prize Categories: First, second and third place – mixed doubles. First and second place – round robin for each of 4 brackets.
Registration: Online at www.active.com(there is an administrative charge for online registrations). In person at Memorial Park Community Center, 510 Bert Street, Johnson City, TN. Monday – Friday, 7 a.m. – 8 p.m. No registration or transfers after October 22, 2021.
Packet Pickup: Memorial Park Community Center tournament day – 7 a.m.
All waivers and releases must be signed in order to participate in the tournament. There will be NO refunds for any reason this is a charitable event and NO transfers or registrations will be accepted after October 22.
Tournament Organizer – Johnson City Senior Center Foundation, Inc.
All funds support Johnson City Senior Center Foundation, Inc., which provides outreach and program support for adults 50 years old and older through the Johnson City Senior Center. Entry fee may be tax deductible consult your tax adviser. Tournament director will have final say on all play, format and tournament activities.

Memorial Park Community Center 6 indoor courts on wooden basketball floor. Keystone Community Center – 2 indoor courts on wooden basketball floor.
Tournament play will follow USAPA rules. This is a non-sanctioned event.
Friday, Oct. 29 - Individual round robin tournament – no partner needed on Friday-groups of 5-limit 80. Two divisions, 8 a.m. beginner/intermediate; 1 p.m. – advanced.
Saturday, Oct. 30 – Mixed doubles – two divisions; 8 a.m. beginner/intermediate; 1 p.m. advanced. 16 teams Mixed Doubles teams for each division. Register with a partner and play with the same partner all day. Contact Jeff at email@example.com if you need help finding a partner.
The top two finishers in each group within their bracket will play a final medal round, with three additional matches. Medals will be awarded to first and second place in each of the final divisions.
Format: Friday, Oct. 29 – Individual Round Robin tournament. Every player is guaranteed at least eight games. No partner required. Registration is limited to the first 80 individuals. This format is designed so players can test their skill level against a variety of players in the first round. The second round should be very competitive at all levels with similar level players in each group. Players at all levels are encouraged to enter this fun format tournament. The preliminary group matches will be one game to 11 (win by 1 point). Players will be placed in preliminary groups of five players. Each player will team up with the other four players and play a total of four games in the preliminary group. Results in the preliminary group will be based on the number of points scored by each individual when teamed with all players in the group. Players will be put into a bracket of 10 divided into two groups of 5 each with each bracket based on the scores from the first round. High scores go in platinum, next gold, then silver, then bronze. The top four finishers in each level will play a final medal round, with three additional matches. Medals will be awarded to first, and second place in each of the final divisions.
Saturday, Oct. 30 Mixed doubles with two levels beginner/ intermediate and advanced. 16 Teams Mixed Doubles (partner required) for each level (total 32 teams). Everyone is guaranteed 4 matches. This is the third pickleball tournament in the Johnson City area, so most players do not have ratings. A general guideline for the levels in this tournament is a 2.0-3.0 player would be considered beginner, a 3.0-3.5 player would be considered intermediate and a player 3.5 or above would be considered advanced. The tournament director reserves the right to modify or combine groups.
