Visual Arts | Lantern Building Workshop | Eagle Creek Park
Eagle Creek Park 7840 West 56th Street Indianapolis, IN 46254 Organized by Indianapolis Parks & Recreation DepartmentAbout this event
Description
We want to help you get ready for the Lilly Lake Lantern Walk taking place on December 18th so we are hosting a lantern building workshop! Using simple supplies, like coffee filters, paper plates, markers, and natural materials, you will create your very own portable lantern. To give you a little teaser of what you can expect at the Lilly Lake Lantern Walk, participants will go on a little twilight walkabout on the trails to show off their work when everyone is finished.
This project is recommended for participants who are second grade and up. Elementary-aged children will need some help from older siblings or adults for a small part of the project. Middle school and older participants may be able to do this project entirely on their own. Participants younger than 2nd grade are still welcome to attend. Anyone who can color will be able to help in the lantern-making process, even if they aren't old enough to build one on their own.
Registration is per lantern. Families can register to make as many lanterns as they need. Quantity based enrollment is set up for ease of registration. All participants under the age of 18 need an adult to stay with them. Park admission is included in the lantern fee. Park grounds close at 6pm.
