About this event

LITERATURE: A SAMPLING OF GENRES AND TOPICS (LVE Section) Six in-person sessions for Lanier Village residents only 12:30-1:50 p.m. Sept. 20, 27; Oct. 4, 11, 18, 25 "Of the making of many books there is no end," said the wisdom writer of Ecclesiastes. The list is truly endless, so this course will offer a variety of writers, genres and subjects. We will consider some works of Georgia's Barbara Brown Taylor, poetry of Maine's Mary Oliver, and fiction of Oregon's Raymond Carver. We will also focus on a few others, but they're a surprise! Topics include spirituality, nature, love, and more — all offered by some of the finest American writers of our time. I hope you join us! Bill Coates, a longtime teacher for BULLI, has been a BULLI staff member since 2019. He holds a Ph.D. in American literature from the University of South Carolina.
