About this event
Strengthen your observational skills with a toolkit of five simple drawing techniques. After practicing the skills, you can choose to work from a photo of any animal you want. From start to finish, using pencil and chalk pastel, in just 10 hours you will learn how to create the most detailed and realistic full color image you’ve ever made. Zan Lombardo brings 40 years of experience teaching pastels. Supplies provided by the instructor. A $10 supply fee to be paid directly to the instructor. Breakdown of 5 classes: Class 1: Learn and practice 5 simple drawing techniques in pencil. Decide which animal you want to create in pastel. Class 2: Working from the photograph that Zan has printed out for you, layout the chalk outline of the animal’s pose using basic shapes. Class 3: Apply first and second layers of chalk pastel on your animal. Class 4: Add a third layer of chalk pastel on your animal and then add the background. Class 5: Finish animal pastel portrait by adding final details (whiskers, scales, feathers, stripes, spots, etc.). Take home your ready-to-frame animal pastel.
