Do you want to be a paleontologist and paleobotanist? Are you intrigued by fossilized species? Then come dig into the world of fossils! Each class students have the opportunity to investigate new plants, dinosaurs, and animals. Together students will travel back 15 - 23 million years ago to the Miocene epoch and dig into the Nebraskan plains. There students will discover the environmental factors that contributed to the evolution and extinction of many species of plants and animals in our own backyard. Unleash the Indiana Jones in your child and allow them to explore the history of life on earth based on the fossilized remains of plants, animals, bacteria, fungi and single-celled living things that have been replaced by rock material or impressions of organisms preserved in rock. Like professional Paleontologists, students will use fossil remains to understand different aspects of the history of life on our planet.
