About this event
Inspire your child to write! This course will explore the art of reading for writing research. As students reflect on what they read, they learn to compare and contrast the point of view from which different stories are narrated. To support their reading, writing, and use of language, students strengthen their vocabulary and grammar by reading a novel. Emphasis is also given to understanding figurative language and writing about discussion topics and characters from their book. The course culminates when students draw on all materials in class and get their chance to perfect writing skills, use their imagination, and have fun with literature by writing a thoughtful response to the book. This course will enable your student to: 1. Develop literary and figurative language skills. 2. Improve academic grammar, vocabulary, and handwriting skills. 3. Develop an essay response to a prompt from the book.
