About this event
DATES: Jul 10, 17, 24, 31 Instructor: José Picayo In this class, students will learn how to make bands using an Inkle Loom. Students curious about the basics of the woven structure will enjoy this warp-faced weaving process. Open to beginners or seasoned weavers curious about a new process, Inkle Weaving is a fun opportunity to explore a new technique. Your instructor will also share some historical and contemporary uses of the Inkle Loom and assist with project planning. There will be a short demonstration of ways to make bands with different equipment. Students will learn how to dress the Inkle Loom and set it up for different patterns. -- Our classes are designed to focus on a learned skill rather than a final product. At TAC, our mission is to provide skills and knowledge for a lifetime! All materials for sample making and learning the technique are included. Any additional materials will need to be supplied by the student based on their vision. 4 Week students have access to Open Studio time for free during the class weeks and for up to a week after the class to put their new knowledge to practice.
