NEW CLASS! Ceramics: Abstractions in Clay
Instructor: Lisa Farris & Agustin Paniagua New for spring term, this class class will be taught by a duo team of artists —
Lisa Farris & Augie Paniagua. Lisa and Augie are longtime friends who share a
love of ceramic art. They will work together to demonstrate all methods of ceramic
techniques including pinching, coiling, slab-building, molds and throwing on the wheel,
all with an eye to how these technical skills will help students create abstract forms in
clay. Students will have the added bonus of feedback and inspiration from two different
but related perspectives. Through class discussions, group critiques and the sharing of
work from the many contemporary artists pushing the boundaries of the medium today,
this class will strive to help students find their own creative voice.
