Join us in the beautiful Kala classroom for a 3-hour session of drawing from a live model. We will look at the work of some contemporary and classical artists for inspiration and explore different approaches to mark making, line quality, value and composition. We may briefly look at anatomy and proportions (some handouts may be available for those who want more of that) but the main focus will be on how we look and what we look for: shadows, highlights, negative space and more. Participants will be encouraged to explore their own drawing voice, try new things and consider how they can use the figure to express their own ideas. Mixed Media + BYO Media Students are welcome to bring their own art supplies and will also be able to experiment with a variety of supplies available in the classroom such as graphite, charcoal, watercolor and ink.
