Race For Rescuers 0.5K

Piedmont Park • 400 Park Drive NE AtlantaGA  30306 Organized by Road Race Services $25 instant refund on this event with gift card.

About this event

Have you ever wanted to help a charity, but felt a 10k or a marathon was too long? Then our race is for you!

The inaugural Race for Rescuers 0.5k charity race will benefit Team Rubicon -- a nonprofit organization comprised of active military personnel, veterans, first responders, and amazing civilians that can rapidly deploy teams for disaster response missions around the world.

The race is an opportunity for our community and others to support a great charity regardless of age and athletic ability. This race allows us to help the cause with snacks, music, and minimal movement.

If you start doubting yourself and begin asking: “Can I do this? Will I finish?” The answer is yes! In fact, we believe in your vast skills so much that we’ll give you your medal before the race even starts! Why you ask? Because you should be able to wear it while running/walking the race, and it’s also way easier for us!

What if I don’t live in Atlanta but still want to support the cause? You can sign up for our “Virtual Runner” program. We have TWO "celebrities" on staff that will run the race for you! One is a former NFL player, so he obviously knows how to run fast. The other is a TV meteorologist who is slightly above average for a runner. Your name will be placed on a sticker that they will wear while they endure the grueling demands of this race for you. They will have a GPS device so you can track their movement live during the race and feel like you were right there with them!

THE BEST PART....It’s not that far! A 0.5K = 0.3 miles = 546 yards (just about five football fields). And when you cross that gloroious finish line, just like in “longer races,” you will be rewarded with amazing prizes that show off your superior athleticism and endurance.

ALL LOCAL RUNNERS will receive:

- A race T-shirt*

- A prestigious medal

- A fancy oval Euro-style sticker to place on your car windshield

ALL VIRTUAL RUNNERS will receive the race t-shirt* and fancy oval sticker. Unlike other virtual races, you do NOT have to log your time or prove you did the run yourself for our race. We will mail ALL virtual runner t-shirts and stickers on Monday, November 8th.

Join your family, friends, coworkers, and complete strangers for a race that you will always remember. If you are still reading this, then this race is your destiny!

It’s going to be intense, so we have supplied everything you will need to power through the race: At the halfway point we will provide water to help you rehydrate so you finish like the champion you are. We’ll also have photographers (if it’s not on social media it didn’t happen), and snacks at the finish line to help you recuperate from such an intense athletic feat.

*Correct tshirt sizes can only be guaranteed to participants who sign up by 10/30/21. If you sign up past that date you will receive a shirt, but not necessarily the size that you request.

If you would like to be a sponsor, please contact the race organizer at Race4Rescuers@gmail.com
